Geography Test

July 29, 2010

Nearly 11,000 MLOs have taken more than one state test. And four fanatical MLOs have actually taken 42 different state tests. If you plan to hold a license in multiple states (or territories), don’t forget to complete the state test component for each one.

Tens of thousands of MLOs yet to pass test

July 15, 2010

NMLS estimates that at least 135,000 MLOs will be state licensed through NMLS by the end of year. However, to date only about 64,000 individuals have passed the National Component of the SAFE MLO Test. MLOs who do not pass the national and state test components before their state deadline risk having their license terminated.

National Tests through June 2010

If you haven’t taken your test, schedule it now to avoid the last minute rush. Also, don’t forget that if you do not pass a test on the first try, you will need to wait 30 days before you can attempt to retake that test component. (71% of individuals pass the National Component on their first try.) For more information see the NMLS Testing Page.

You can now enroll in and schedule appointments for the Kansas, Wisconsin, and Virgin Islands state test components. The first appointments will be available on August 6th. For more see the NMLS Testing Page or Test Content Outlines.

Lots of July 31 Deadlines

July 6, 2010

14 state agencies have a deadline of July 31 (or July 30) for their MLOs to be fully compliant with SAFE requirements. These July deadlines affect over 45,000 MLOs. For dates and details about your state, consult the SAFE Requirements by State Chart.
